Crime in Rocky Mount was down last month compared to September 2020. Police Chief Robert Hassell noted that both crimes against properties and violent crimes have been decreasing for roughly the past three to four months, which is a good sign.

The crime report showed there were 152 instances of crimes last month compared to 221 in September 2020, which was a 31 percent decrease.
