Monk to Mill Trail to become reality at cost of $2M

A proposed greenway and urban trail project for bicyclists and pedestrians to extend from the southern part of the city through downtown and to the Rocky Mount Mills mixed-use development is going to receive a total of $2 million in funding. The Monk to Mill Trail was on the agenda of the Feb. 28 City Council meeting. The council quickly approved an agreement between the municipal government and the state Transportation Department for funding for the design and the construction to make the project a reality.
