Convenience store chain to enter state eyeing Rocky Mount area

Wawa, the convenience store chain whose roots are in Pennsylvania — and which is also famous for its coffee and hoagies — is planning to expand into North Carolina and hopes to open locations in the Tar Heel State by the end of 2024, company Public Relations Manager Lori Bruce told the Telegram on Friday in an email.
