Rec Room, which is being led by Tierra Norwood, will officially open on Monday. Studio One will be opening very soon next door and will be led by Adria Jervay.
Norwood is known in the Twin Counties because she served for a time as the City of Rocky Mount’s downtown development coordinator and as director of the Small Business Center at Nash Community College.
Norwood, while she was with NCC, appeared on “The Mayor’s Brief,” which is a series in which Mayor Sandy Roberson interviews officials, leaders and people of interest in the community on camera and posts those interviews on YouTube.
Norwood also presently owns Ajons Professional Solutions, which is a marketing business.
Norwood emphasized that Rec Room offers 24/7 access to high-speed internet and the chance to mingle and collaborate with people in other businesses.
She said what Rec Room instead plans to do is to have small business training in a format of about 30 to 45 minutes of lectures and learning, followed by question-and-answer sessions and networking.
